WELCOME TO THE FIRST anabo NEWS UPDATE
Thanks once again for your interest in
anabo and welcome to the first issue of the news update. It's been a busy,
exciting and challenging time taking
anabo
through its early development stages and your continued support and interest
in the concept is vital to moving forward into production. I look forward to keeping you up to date with progress and milestones in the run up to the creation of the first
anabo communities.

PLANNING PERMISSION RECEIVED FOR FIRST anabo PROTOTYPE
Planning permission has just been received for the first
anabo prototype, for a site in
Edinburgh University's King's Buildings campus.

The house, a viola
anabo 80, will be used as a live test bed
for
anabo's technology and construction methods and, on completion, will become a show home.
We hope to include all the key
anabo features, including the
solar roof and the recycled exhaust air heating and hot water system. The prototype will be used
to fully test this system's efficiency. If you haven't already seen it, there's information
on the main
anabo web site.
Here's the link.
We plan to film and document the entire construction process and will keep you in touch with
progress via the
anabo web site.
The completed house should be ready to view by early summer this year and we will be organising a series of
events in and around it.
SCOTTISH PILOT SCHEMES : DISCUSSIONS UNDERWAY
anabo is currently in discussion with landowners over sites for two Scottish pilot schemes. The sites, in West Lothian and Midlothian, would be able to accommodate between
fifteen and twenty anabo houses each and both sites would contain the full anabo range. If all goes well, subject to planning permission, we would hope to be able to offer these houses for sale
early in 2010. We will soon be looking for 'pioneers' to pave the way in what will be the first ever anabo communities.
anabo's NEW STUDIO BY THE SEA
anabo has a new home in Newhaven, Edinburgh, sharing an office with the architectural practice of its founder, Andrew Stoane. All
anabo's design, modelling
and administration will take place here.

The new studio is on the ground floor of a notable building designed in 1957 by Scottish modernist, Sir Basil Spence.
We've always admired the design of the building. If you're interested in architecture, particularly modernism, it's well worth a look.
